Celebrated Bharatanatyam dancer Malavika Sarukkai performed a single concert in Austin accompanied by a live orchestra. Audience reaction was “electrifying” “moved and inspired” “outstanding”! Some were so transformed by her expositions of the Rainy Season and Autumn “Sharad”, that they wept with emotion.

Malavikaji is widely acclaimed for her creative and riveting dance choreography that transport the viewer to the inner emotions and heartbeat of dance.  She can connect the art form to viewers in a unique and intimate way, leaving them spellbound.  Her artistry has been recognized by several international awards, including the Padma Shree from the President of India, the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award and the Mrinalini Sarabhai Award for Excellence in Classical Dance. Her life and work was the subject of Samarpanam, a film commissioned by the Government of India.
